Nintendo Power Super Smash Bros. Brawl Flash

I have been cruising around Newgrounds and wanted to share another great Super Smash Bros. Brawl Flash movie with everyone. This one is titled “Nintendo Power” and shows a lot of of Nintendo characters that have been showcased prominently in the magazine. I used to subscribe to Nintendo Power around the NES/SNES days and the animation in this Flash is very smooth and fluid.

You can check out the Flash at Newgrounds here:

Flash Movie: Super Smash Bros ST

I just stopped by Newgrounds to check out the some of the Flash there and found some interesting one abot SSBB that everyone might like. I watched the latest episode of this series and I found it to be pretty good. I like how sprites were used, just like on a lot of video game Flash movies. The battle sequences were particularly nice as it mimiced the actual game with everyone’s damage at the bottom so you could keep track of what was going on. If you are into the Super Smash Brothers you should take look into this Flash series. I am always interested in find new video game Flash that pays tribute to all of our favorite video games.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Character History: R.O.B

http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/e/e4/200px-Robotic_Operating_Buddy.jpgWhen I saw the character roster for SSBB, I was amazing to see the historically rich line up there was. There were character on there who were all the way back from the day like Pit from Kid Icarus, the Ice Climbers and Mr. Game and Watch, who both make return apperances, plus our little robo buddy Rob. I remember having Rob in the mid 80s and I never got it to work. Rob, which stands for Robotic Operating Buddy, simulates the second player that would join in on your Nintendo gaming sessions. If you had an NES back then, then you probably remember the two games that Rob was meant for: Gyromite and Stack Up. I never had Stack Up, but I did have Gyromite.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Music @ YouTube

I was at YouTube and found this video playlist with 155 songs from Brawl! This is the largest compilation of Brawl songs that I have ever seen on YouTube. A good majority of these songs are modern remixes of my old favorite games like Mario, Zelda, and Sonic.

Check it out:

Should Mortal Kombat Finishing Moves Be Added to Brawl?

I know that SSBB has final smashes, but these are different than all the finishing moves in Mortal Kombat. If you remember Mortal Kombat (MK) from Midway, then you will recall that this game had finishing moves. Finishing moves were a variety of ways that you could use to finish off your opponent. MK had many including fatalities, friendships, babalities, brutalities, and animalities. MK was the answer to Street Fighter II (SF), which gained popularity around the same time. However, the fatalities are what made MK stand out.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Final Smashes Review

I found this video on YouTube that shows all the final smashes for every character in high quality.

I have seen several videos that show the final smashes on  YouTube, but this is the best one. Not only can you watch this video in high quality but the video also shows how strong some final smashes are with a full screen of characters. After watching this video I will offer my thoughts and opinions on them.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Character History: Mr. Game & Watch

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is out and its cast of characters defintely pay homage and tribute to video game greatness. One of the characters, Mr. Game & Watch is no exception. This fellow is back and is out to prove that Nintendo’s history is still as important as its future. Before Nintendo release their black and white handheld portable gaming device, the Game Boy, there was something else that came before it. Prior to the Game Boy existed another handheld called the Game and Watch. This is where one of Nintendo’s oldest Smash characters, Mr. Game and Watch was born. This character is probably one of the most obscure and unknown characters to most new gamers since his time was back in the 80s.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Characters Missing In Action

The highly anticipated Super Smash Bros. Brawl is coming out for the Wii this week on Sunday March 9, 2008. We all have our favorite characters who did not make it. Only so many characters can make the final cut, here are a few characters who I think would have made great additions to the Brawl line up.

Cloud Strife

We need an representative from Final Fantasy. Currently, there is no one from Squaresoft/Enix on the list and we need someone. How about the most popular Final Fantasy character from the materia era? I nominate Cloud Strife, that spiky haired mercenary who wields a blade twice his size. Brawl symbolizes the greatest of video gaming history, with its collection of console icons. I would love to see Cloud use different materia as his main skills. This would make him unique compared to the other characters.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Character History: Ice Climbers

Super Smash Bros. is coming out soon and everyone is wondering where all these popular characters come from. Some of them are obscure because they were introduced so long ago to where today’s newer gamers probably do not recoginze them. The ice climbers are good example of characters who have reemerged after years of history. These character come from a Nintendo classic Ice Climber and I had this game when the NES was popular. This was a two-player simulatenous game from the mid-80s were you and a friend were a couple of Eskimos in parkas weilding pretty heavy hammers. The goal was to scale of the icy moutain and retrieve the fruit at the top of the peak.
