This is one of the snow/winter themes from Earthbound that also made into SSBB. Here is the Brawl version of the song.
The music has not changed drastically because 16-bit still sound very similar and recognizable to today’s vgm. Some of the more impressive Brawl tracks convert over 8-bit NES favorites. This song is played in Winters, which is aptly named for the both the environment and Christmas jingle. Jeffs is from Winters and offers the party valuable skills ranging from fixing broken gadgets into useful tools to using powerful and explosive bottle rockets. Many have said that Jeff is the most useless and weakest character in the party. Even though this is true to some extent, the main reason is that Jeff is difficult to use. Jeff has no PSI power due to lack of PP unlike the other characters. Also Jeff has a fairly pointless Spy command that can take peak at an enemies stats. How often to people use Pray or Mirror? Jeff’s relies a lot on his gadgets that he fixes from broken parts like the defense shower or heavy bazooka, which are both useful because they cost no PP and last forever. Jeff actually does have “PSI”, you just need to find and fix them.

[..YouTube..] About the “Ness inside the Starman” thing, bebechan94, here is my speculation:The character in the visor actually looks a LOT more like Ninten, the first game’s protagonist. Since he almost looks like Ness, Giygas may be secretly looking for revenge against Ninten and thinks Ness is him. I mean look at Devil’s Machine Giygas. The image is clearly a blue cap, like Ninten’s!
