I am sharing another great song from Earthbound. This is one of the first songs that play in the game when you choose the names for your characters. What names do you like to name your characters? I usually use the defaults but I like to choose a Drill as my favorite thing. So all of Ness’ PK attack skills become PK Drill. Earthbound really has unique music. During a time where Squaresoft and Final Fantasy dominated the RPG market it is nice to know that new comer Earthbound has marked its territory and became a respectable addition to every RPG fan’s collection. What I like best about Earthbound is that it takes place in modern today instead of traditional medieval times like the older FFs. So instead of seeing knights, kings, and castles, you see dogs, robots, and strange star-shaped aliens. This modern twist on the RPG formula produced such a successful franchise for Nintendo. Even better, Ness and Lucas are in Brawl so there is still some love for Earthbound. Ah yes, Earthbound, today’s role playing game.

[..YouTube..] You’re the best, thanks man.
[..YouTube..] I love this BGM
[..YouTube..] The first time I heard this piece of music I laughed because the first bt of music they play is the opening of the Liberty Bell March. Better known as the theme to Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
[..YouTube..] I am terribly sorry for the triple post. i don’t know how it happened.
[..YouTube..] this is awesome! i remember playing earthbound. but why did mother 3 only hit japan?
[..YouTube..] That’s how it always is, it’ll be here eventually.
[..YouTube..] Pipe dream, unfortunately…
[..YouTube..] Because Nintendo is probably afraid it won’t sell well, like what happened with “Earthbound”. Of course if they re-released the “Mother” series along with “Mother 3″ without the bad marketing then they could make up for that.
[..YouTube..] They might know this, but waiting will only make us to want it more.like getting rid of coca cola for NEW coca coca and then every hating it so they bring back the original recipe as coke CLASSIC and make millions.
[..YouTube..] Yeh selecting your name never sounded so good. This was one of the coolest/strangest things about starting this game. I was like ? this music, but then I loved it too.
[..YouTube..] Okay’ska…
[..YouTube..] Name another friend, Name your pet, Name your favorite food, Coolest thing? Okayska…
[..YouTube..] Well maybe Earthbound would have sold better if the slogan wasn’t “this game stinks.”I’m not joking.
[..YouTube..] Too bad Nintendo won’t admit it.
[..YouTube..] Yeah, reverse psychology doesn’t exactly work in advertising. I wish I had Earthbound, yet alone, a Super Nintendo. Can’t wait for it to come on the VC.Oh, and if Mother 3 gets released in America ever, it’ll probably be for DS and called Earthbound 2.
[..YouTube..] How you can tell? It’s sounds like the pitch is being lowered as the sample plays through… It seems barely recognizable as that march… Good catch if so, though. I could never make it out. This song is so great, also.
[..YouTube..] wasn’t its “ok desu ka?”? and wasnt it Itoi’s voice?
[..YouTube..] YES
[..YouTube..] AWESOME MUSIC!
[..YouTube..] I remember hearing this before playing what is and will always be the awesomest RPG ever! This is, other than the Gigyas theme, the best music in Earthbound!
[..YouTube..] Okay desu ka?Yeah, he actually says this, he says it really fast.
[..YouTube..] it may sound like “okay desu ka?”,but to me it sounds like “Copiska?”
[..YouTube..] That was really the slogan? Wow. That slogan stinks.
[..YouTube..] lol its say. ” Pokesca ” xDDDDDDD
[..YouTube..] I always thought it said, “Okay, Scott.”
[..YouTube..] I thought it always said “K, Disco”
[..YouTube..] i always tought it sai “what was that?” haha way off XDXD
[..YouTube..] It’s a Mr. Saturn word. Odeska, which means okay. You make your selection… “Odeska?” just as the Mr. Saturns say. You’re welcome.
[..YouTube..] Darn it, I must correct myself, Kay-o is the Mr.Saturn word for okay.Odeska is the word for is that right or is it good. It’s been a long time, lol.
[..YouTube..] I learned this shiz on guitar.I should upload it to youtube one of these days.
[..YouTube..] WOW! OW OW OW OW!!!! Echo
[..YouTube..] Is Ness in that Giant? Why? i thought it had a mind of its own.
[..YouTube..] I think it’s probably the reflection of Ness looking up at the Starman.
[..YouTube..] “Odeska” sounds like “o desu ka?” wich is japanese for “is it?”
[..YouTube..] So I’m not far off, lol.
[..YouTube..] i heard it means OK in japanese i thinksupposely this is where they got Ness’s “OK” taunt from
[..YouTube..] Oh…
[..YouTube..] WOW! Ow…Ow..
[..YouTube..] Super nostalgia starts at 1:00.
[..YouTube..] Wow, guess I’m not alone!
[..YouTube..] OH god I feel the exact same way. When I hear that part I get all nostalgic for my childhood and the fond memories I had playing EB for the very first time
[..YouTube..] I first rented it when I was 8-9, and returned it after I got stuck after coming back to Twoson with Paula (and it was due back). I then searched for it right after for a time with my mom, and ended up buying Illusion of Gaia. A year or two later, my best friend asks me if I want to borrow EarthBound, and I nearly crapped my pants from happiness.
[..YouTube..] The way I hear when accepting your name, it said “Ok lets go” but faster pace. Meaning he doesn’t care what you put. LOL ^_^
[..YouTube..] In sound test if you play the’War against giygas!’ track (001 i think..) then select the ‘Your name please’ track You get a sweet hybrid version of the song!
[..YouTube..] How do you get sound test? Is it a code type thing or is it hidden somewhere?
[..YouTube..] Send me a message if you’d like a zip file containing the save state file for sound test. Because I forget how to get their personally lol
[..YouTube..] OK DESUKU?
[..YouTube..] Ok’ska…?
[..YouTube..] lol in the ost it’s ok’ska
[..YouTube..] That “WAOW!!!” once your done always gets me. One of the best things in the game.
[..YouTube..] cool
[..YouTube..] Okay desu.
[..YouTube..] Naming your main character and your party has never sounded better. <3
[..YouTube..] ‘kay, let’s go.
[..YouTube..] Don’t get me wrong. This song totally rocks; it’s possibly my favorite song in EarthBound. I just like how they say “Okay desu” over and over again. ^_^Also, ya gotta love that bass line. ^_^
[..YouTube..] Odeska!!!
[..YouTube..] 1:01-1:11This part is inexplicably awesome.
[..YouTube..] Lolz i always though he said ‘And this guy?’
[..YouTube..] I know what you mean.
[..YouTube..] One of the best themes in earthbound.
[..YouTube..] I always heard it as Okay Scott.XD
[..YouTube..] i always thought it said “bogus stuff” …xD
[..YouTube..] is it saying “esp” Ness is psychic and everything
[..YouTube..] why does that one guy say “okiska” ?? what does that mean??
[..YouTube..] rofl
[..YouTube..] At 1:01, it sends shivers down my spine.
[..YouTube..] omg it does!!earthbound IS the best game ever.
[..YouTube..] YES. YES IT IS.
[..YouTube..] this song.and the WAOH!! when you finish.those sounds make the game win before you even start playing.
[..YouTube..] pokey means business, kraken of the sea and this is my favorite songs.
[..YouTube..] It’s Shigesato Itoi saying “OK, desu ka?”It basically means, “Is that OK?”
[..YouTube..] I always thought it was OpishkopGod Earthbound’s music so unique for RPGs, but still so fresh. This game is such a gem.I really hope someday IGN puts this and Xenogears on their own list, they really extremely creative and extremely great RPGs
[..YouTube..] Sounds like a city t’ me.
[..YouTube..] I love that he had no idea that the programmers recorded him saying, so he was shocked when he heard his voice when he play tested it.
[..YouTube..] Is this from the game? I didn’t know they used audio samples in SNES.
[..YouTube..] Hey! You may be right there!
[..YouTube..] I thought I heard some samples of Monty Python in one of these songs?
[..YouTube..] That “one guy” was actually Mr. Itoi (I forgot how to spell his first name), and apparently, he was tricked into saying it when a hidden tape recorder was present.Don’t ask me how it was put into the game, because I have no idea how they did it.
[..YouTube..] Lol, awesome!
[..YouTube..] This is one of the best songs in the whole game, am I right?
[..YouTube..] When I heard this song at the beginning of the game, I knew that this wouldn’t be an ordinary game.
[..YouTube..] Right at the beginning, the “static” is actually a distorted part of The Liberty Bell March, which is of course the theme of Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
[..YouTube..] Itoi,please father my children.
