Super Smash Bros. Brawl Character History: R.O.B

http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/e/e4/200px-Robotic_Operating_Buddy.jpgWhen I saw the character roster for SSBB, I was amazing to see the historically rich line up there was. There were character on there who were all the way back from the day like Pit from Kid Icarus, the Ice Climbers and Mr. Game and Watch, who both make return apperances, plus our little robo buddy Rob. I remember having Rob in the mid 80s and I never got it to work. Rob, which stands for Robotic Operating Buddy, simulates the second player that would join in on your Nintendo gaming sessions. If you had an NES back then, then you probably remember the two games that Rob was meant for: Gyromite and Stack Up. I never had Stack Up, but I did have Gyromite.

This game brings a lot of memories, even if I could not get Rob to work. Those two discs are meant to press down on the red and blue buttons, which correspond to the A and B on the NES game pad. I know that for Gyromite, Rob presses down on the those buttons using his discs which causes columns to move up and down. This clears a path for you on Gyromite.

Watch Rob in action in this YouTube video I found:

I found another video on YouTube that pays tribute to our robo buddy:
