Easily one of the best, if not the best title for the SNES, is probably the the most popular SNES ever made. Made by none other than Square Soft, CT (Chrono Trigger) featured a battle system that most RPGs failed to rival. The infamous double and triple techs are what in my opinion, made CT so popular. Throwing that in plus a tale of epic proportions, made Chrono, the story’s lead character, one of the most well-known video game icons.
The double and triple techs are most likely the game’s high point. You could use attacks that involved two or all three member of your party at a time. Doing this created attacks that were much more powerful than what the characters could do alone. Plus, the animations for these techs looked so good that they made you want to use them.
The whole time travel thing is great. You can actually travel between different time periods, starting from about 25 billion BC to 2100 AD or so. As you hop from BC to AD you get to see how the world had changed between time periods.

The battle scenes are great. Like I said, techs look awesome.
Replay: 10
Beating this game once grants you access to “Game +” mode where you can play through it all over again, using your current party’s stats. This is great if you want to go back and explorer places you missed before, or if you just look crushing enemies with your insanely powerful party
Sound: 10
The musical score is superb, which is what we expect from Square Soft. Each song adds just the right amount of suspense or mood no what situation your party is in.
Overall: 10
CT definitely set the standard for future RPGs to come.
Best Party - Chrono Frog Ayla
Chrono is an obvious choice. Frog has a nice heal all spell and does well with his Masamune and Hero Medal. Ayla is Ayla, what more can you ask for? Being a cave-person we expect her brute strength to more than make up for her lack of intelligent magical ability. I even think at times Ayla is physically stronger than Chrono is. The only downfall for this party is that their triple tech, 3D Strike, only hits one enemy, which really is not an issue since you only need them against bosses.
Favorite Character - Frog
Frog, AKA Glenn, is probably the 3rd or 4th behind Robo strongest character in the game. I never used Robo much so I do not know for sure. So Frog is pretty average, his heal spells are not as strong as Robo’s but Frog’s speed is higher. Of course, I compare the character’s naturally gained stats through levels and not tabs because with tabs, than it all comes down to techs, and Robo would be Frog. Plus I like 600 AD better than 2000 AD, because there is not much to do in 2000 AD where the world has already ended anyway. Besides, Frog has the best theme in the game.
